Is the amount of postage quoted exact?
The postage amount quoted on all direct mail campaigns
which use a permit number is based upon an estimated amount per piece. This amount
varies dependent upon mail class. The actual amount owed to the U.S. Postal Service
will be determined when your mail is presented to the post office. There are many
variables that will increase or decrease the amount of postage due including the
quality of your data and whether or not your mail piece meets automation standards.
Any postage amounts overpaid will be credited to your account and any shortages
will be billed to your account. The U.S. Postal Service provides a detailed summary
of all postage due for each mail drop (Form 3602) and this summary will be supplied
to you at the completion of your project.
